The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. God reveals himself through His word. The Old and New Testaments are the norm and guide on which we base our faith and practice.

2 Timothy 3:14-18 (HSCB)
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing those from whom you learned, and that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Hebrews 4:12 (HSCB)
For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as to divide soul, spirit, joints, and marrow; it is a judge of the ideas and thoughts of the heart.

2 Peter 1:16-21 (HSCB)
For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, a voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory:
This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him!

And we heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with Him on the holy mountain. So we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. First of all, you should know this: no prophecy of Scripture comes from one's own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, moved by the Holy Spirit, men spoke from God.

Psalm 19:7-11 (HSCB)
The instruction of the LORD is perfect,reviving the soul;
the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy,making the inexperienced wise.

The precepts of the LORD are right,making the heart glad;
the commandment of the LORD is radiant,making the eyes light up.

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever;
the ordinances of the LORD are reliable and altogether righteous.

They are more desirable than gold—than an abundance of pure gold;
and sweeter than honey—than honey dripping from the comb.

In addition, Your servant is warned by them;there is great reward in keeping them.

Psalm 119:1-16 (HSCB)
How happy are those whose way is blameless, who live according to the law of the LORD!
Happy are those who keep His decrees and seek Him with all their heart.

They do nothing wrong; they follow His ways.
You have commanded that Your precepts be diligently kept.

If only my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes!
Then I would not be ashamed when I think about all Your commands.

I will praise You with a sincere heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.
I will keep Your statutes; never abandon me.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping Your word.
I have sought You with all my heart; don't let me wander from Your commands.

I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.
LORD, may You be praised; teach me Your statutes.

With my lips I proclaim all the judgments from Your mouth.

I rejoice in the way [revealed by] Your decrees as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts and think about Your ways.

I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
