The Annual Vine Golf Tournament
2008 Winning Team- "JK Foundations"
The Vine hosts an annual Golf Tournament to raise money for our ministries. This years was our fifth annual and most successful year, with 33 teams of four players. The format for playing the round of 18 holes is Captain's choice, which means all players on a team of four hit their balls from the previous best hit balls location.
The players participate in many activities and contests during the rounds including a closest to pin, longest (straightest) drive, hole-in-one prize hole, and others! The winning team is the team with the least amount of strokes and is awarded a nice prize and trophy. The team with the highest amount of strokes also is awarded a trophy for their efforts.
The proceeds from the Golf Tournament benefit the Vine Mission Fund, which enables all the Mission Projects The Vine does throughout the year. A large project that the Golf Tournament benefits this year is a Mission to Guatemala to build kitchen/dining facilities for the "Rancho de los Niños" orphanage, in June 2008.
